This is the hall in which I sat for my prelims and 'O' levels. The air-conditioned hall which was a part of four years of my life. (:
THE AIR-CONDITIONED HALL IN CRESCENT! <3
Gosh I've been talking about Crescent forever. Like all my previous posts were centered around Crescent! :D
Anyway let's talk about the scholarship which I almost didn't apply for. All thanks to Donald who scared me. And I almost didn't want to apply for it cause I thought I had to be in the Humanities Programme. Mine's the Pre-U Scholarship! Apparently they're different.
Anyway Mr Chng's my life-saver. I was feeling rather scared when I had to dial some ext. number to find the teacher-in-charge. No one picked up the phone then I decided to like, dump it into her pigeon hole.
THEN I SAW MR CHNG.
And of course, I asked him for help. And he did! He brought me into the H.O.D area and then referred me to this lady teacher. Then the teacher was asking me, "What's your L1R6? Is it 8?"
Then I was like, "Huh? L1R6? I thought L1R5?"
Then she went to count mine, inclusive of chinese. She went, "2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8!"
"Very good! You are eligible!"
I was a little confused. Turned out that I wasn't detailed enough in reading the instructions. It stated that you had to get 8 points or below for English + HMT/MT + 5 relevant subjects. Fortunately, I had all A1s except English and Biology. SO I GOT MY 8.
If not, dear scholarship, farewell.
$750, sayonara.
However, the thing is, there's going to be an interview. GOODNESS.
I'm so going to get tongue-tied. And people keep asking me for study tips.
Let me be downright straightforward and honest with you. I spend more time on my computer than I do studying. I never study until like a week or two before major exams and a day or two before class tests. I seriously don't know how I got myself such grades.
And please, I have a name. Don't call me _-pointer.
Today during Geog lecture my classmates sabotaged me. VERY GOOD. The lecturer was like, "Now let me ask a female."
They went, "Isabelle!"
"_-pointer eh!"
GOSH ANNOYING PEOPLE. And I didn't know the answer to his question. Ah. Physical geog has quite a load of rubbish. Doesn't really interest me. But I understood maths today! :D
Another thing I find annoying is that when people get to know my results and ask me where I intend to go, and I say, "Stay in JJ."
They over-react and go, "WHY? You can go better JCs why not? Like NJ? AC?"
How many times have I said NJ's a boring school (from what I heard) with 2 pathetic arts classes, and that I do not think I'd be able to fit into AC's culture, and that SA's too ruddily far and HC is just a complete NO-NO.
The next person who asks me why I'm staying I'm going to SCREAM into your face.
I LIKE JJ. IT'S NEARBY AND CONVENIENT. I DO NOT REALLY FUNCTION UNDER STRESS. I KNOW WHAT I WANT. HAPPY?!
There, good. Done!
I'm a really slack person. The only thing I really do is homework. I hand in all my assignments on time (at least, I try my very best to). Homework is really really essential. This is because when you do, you practice, and you get to apply what you learn. Thus, reading and memorising alone is not enough. I'm one of those who would actually do homework, and more often than not, classmates would request for my work to refer to. Well, I don't really like doing that cause it defeats the purpose behind giving homework. But what can I do, I'm very afraid of confronting teachers and experiencing any kind of wrath they'd hold, thus, I steer clear of teachers. Never had I once voluntarily went for any consultations. NEVER. It's either someone pulled me or something.
I hate ONE-TO-ONE with teachers. They intimidate me. :(
And obviously, I do not like to study. I like to study for Chinese, Lit and Social Studies though! SS because Miss Ting makes everything so fun, Chinese because it's my favourite subject and lit because there's nothing really much to do but reading (:
LALALA. Right I better stop here. TATA! (See, I DO love typing.)
