Current read: Strange Fits of Passion (Anita Shreve)

Homework for the weekend :(
1) Assignment 7B (Sequences & Series - Summation)
2) Chinese Composition
3) Economics Essay on the tremendous rise in oil prices
4) PW Written Report Draft 1

Chinese Oral is gone for good.

I guess I'd never need to feel butterflies in my stomach whenever I have to utter complete sentences in chinese for a 5-minute sitting :D

I was rather euphoric and excited during my oral because it led from one topic to another and both the examiners wanted to ask me a question at the same time. It's funny to see them turn to each other. And of course, being the gentleman he should be, the male examiner told the female examiner to go ahead.

And yes, you are blind if you haven't noticed by now that Mr. Carrot is back, AND bigger! Yes Farhana I realised I miss it too! (:

MR. CARROT! Whee everybody loves Mr. Carrot!

However, ironically, the beloved friend who gave me Mr. Carrot asked me one day what she got for me for my birthday. :/

I got my Pre-U Sem certificate today!

And gosh I DO miss those 5 smashing days with my fellow Pre-U semmers.

I felt like such a horrible procrastinator yesterday that I started to doodle randomly on MS Word, and this was what I got. HAH.

I don't enjoy ennui.

GERMANY VS ARGENTINA!

GERMANYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!

Wednesday, June 28, 2006.

I miss CRESCENT and I love it a lot, a lot, a lot.

Spending time with Crescentians every morning make me very peaceful and calm.

Laughing with Renee and Raseena the (3 x 7 = 21!) gang every Wednesday perks me up a lot.

Gosh Crescent Crescent Crescent!

Oh well. PW is fun but there's a lot of work to it.

Giving out surveys is fun, reading what teachers have to say is fun, reading about their complains about ahem is even more fun. Politics, politics, politics.

Seriously, the more you look at this skin, the more gloomy you feel.

Xin Yi you are right in not choosing this man.

It had its initial appeal which died away really quickly.

I'm very random today eh.

Common tests are coming and I need them to come cause I seriously need to study. Come quick, come!

I really really really really ABHOR the sigma notation/summation part of sequences and series.

I have something really huge against all matheticians who even bother to make my life, which is unknown to them, so miserable.

I see no beauty in mathematics.

It's a CHORE.

Oh gosh I want to bang my head against the wall.

Saturday, June 17, 2006.

Hello.

I think I'm a highly unsuspecting and gullible person who's blindly oblivious to people who can really really act well to conceal some things they want to keep from me.

I got tricked today. :/

By my very good primary school friend Noel Ng who enlisted the help of Yong Quan. Even Jin Yu knew!

Fine. Maybe it was because I didn't bother checking the ticket stubs. I was the one who gave them to the doorman eh! ISABELLE YOU'RE BLIND!

We went in rather late so adverts were playing already.

They happily told me we were watching Cars and I complained I watched it already but since the tickets were already bought, I had no choice but to go in.

And so when the beginning part of Silent Hill played I was thinking, "This is just a trailer right?"

Then I told Yong Quan after the movie when we were going to the MRT station and he happily said, "Trailers won't have subtitles and everything."

And he's such a horrible guy. Laughing at me and Jin Yu.

"This was more of a comedy than a horror movie."

GAH.

Then I got a little uneasy and wanted to check the stubs. And he was so complying that he even passed me his phone so that I could see the words for myself.

So it took me rather long.

And then I saw - Silent Hill (NC16)

Wah I almost screamed and was hitting Noel who was sitting on my left and telling him how irritating and annoying he is and that I'm going to sleep during the movie.

I didn't, by the way.

It was hard to when Noel was expressing the gross parts with his very limited vocabulary and Jin Yu occassionally took her bag to cover her face.

I think my jacket was covering my face for 3/4 the movie :D

And I needed the toilet.

I think I said it 4 times throughout the entire movie which I wasn't really watching.

The music and sounds have the power of making me jump.

And Noel goes, "Eeewww" like every other 3 minutes?

And he kept asking me questions about the plot.

Aiyoh how would I know when I'm hiding behind my jacket.

I really have something against these sort of shows. Brings back memories of House Of Wax when ten or more of us boycotted the movie and left 15 or so of them inside the cinema.

4S1 is united, but half falls away when things get scary on screen.

Gah I'm never going to be tricked again.

Lesson learnt: Check your ticket stubs before you enter! Better still, always be present when buying tickets.

The guys ran ahead to buy first cause we couldn't walk so fast, and so they ran. Hah.

Something happened when I was at the bus-stop outside Queenstown MRT.

There was this man going around to everyone asking if we could spare him some money cause he claims he hasn't eaten in days.

There came to a point when no one, no one at all acceeded to his request and he snatched the wallet of a girl sitting down.

Everyone was taken aback and the girl struggled but managed to snatch her wallet back.

And that man said in chinese as if everyone around were his audience, "I am really very hungry and since no one wanted to help I had no choice but to snatch."

Then this guy started to call the police.

I left before the police came. Glad to, anyway.

It's hard to decide on the man's plight. He isn't crippled, he can speak chinese, he can get a job, even a low-paying one right?

I mean, I couldn't tell if he was sincere and so I shunned him like a plague.

When one man gave him a few coins he took the money and put them into his wallet. There was a shop at the bus-stop (right maybe the amount wasn't sufficient) and I just wonder why he didn't immediately buy something to satisfy, or at least, feed his hunger.

I feel that his act wasn't exactly earnest, especially when he snatched the girl's wallet. Yeah, you may be desperate. But have you no pride of a grown man snatching a teenage girl's wallet in front of the many pairs of eyes?

Oh well. It's just surprising to see such things happening around you.

Yesterday's dinner and Island Creamery visit with my 7 other friends was good (:

I went to K-Box with Germaine today and we sang CAO MENG! Haha.

I LIKE CAO MENG. I like to see them dance. :D

We took good neoprints though they were highly expensive. We each had to pay 5 bucks. 5 bucks. 5 BUCKS!

Saw Amisha too (:

Yes Germ I'm going to do the thing I'm supposed to do now.

Here goes nothing.

a) The tagged victim has to comeup with 8 different points of his/her perfect lover.
b) Mention the gender of his/her perfect lover.
c) Tag 8 victims to join this game and leave a comment at their blogs.
(I'm way too lazy to do this.)
d) If you are tagged the second time, there is no need to do this AGAIN.
e) The most important rule: Have fun doing it. (?)

1) It has to be a guy.
(God gave Adam Eve, He didn't give Adam another Adam.)
2) He should be taller than me...?
3) We must have the same belief.
4) He must not curse nor swear nor spew vulgarities.
5) He can play the piano...?
6) He should be able to tolerate me and my love for things uncommon (:
7) He must have some intellect, better if he has more than I do.
8) He should possess the qualities that everyone loves and should have.
(Filial piety, responsibility, reliability, initiativity, integrity etc.)

We humans all expect too much don't we.

Shakes head.

Rah anyway I'm reading Pride & Prejudice now in the midst of ignoring my homework and the book is good!

I think literature students should read books like P&P, To Kill A Mockingbird and all that fantastic classics and extreme winners.

And I haven't!

Which means I got to look beyond Jeffrey Archer, Melissa Nathan & Michael Connelly. :(

Yes bimbo I'm updating (:

It's been two weeks into the month-long (rather short, actually) holiday and up till now, I've managed to only finish my chinese homework!

Claps and screams.

Gosh I can't stand myself.

Isabelle I abhor your stinking attitude of procrastination.

Isabelle I abhor your fear of reading through your maths booklet to try to make sense of what seems senseless in mathematics.

Isabelle I abhor your ill-discipline in going about to embark on your homework.

:(

GAH.

I didn't get to do something yesterday :/

Anyway the food at Aunt Pat's house was good cause I was really quite hungry. It's quite sad that you only get to eat your lunch at 3.00pm.

I didn't know the whole world knows about Island Creamery but me!

I'm such a frog in the well. Oh well.

That place is XX-dominated anyway.

I think us who love World Cup and have no cable are sad beings.

I can't watch South Korea play their matches and I can't go "DAE HAN MIN GUK" with the fellow Korean supporters. RAHHHH.

I look forward to Saturday and Sunday when I don't have to rot at home feeling pathetic and stupid anymore!

RAHHH ZHU QING I WANT TO GO OUT AND PLAY. (But I'm not allowed I think.)

School today was an UTTER waste of time.

Great Expectations in black and white IS rather boring.

Boring boring boring.

Been thinking so much the past week I feel my brain wanting to waste away already :(

However, I enjoyed the camp (:

Made a new friend and had fun with the people I already knew and now know better (:

Bimbos. -Shakes head.

Haha. I love my friends (:

Friday, June 02, 2006.

I had a rocking time at Pre-University Seminar.

AND HERE ARE THE PHOTOS (:

Anyway if you ever manage to catch any footage of Pre-U Sem in the news and on air, whenever you hear of the words 'The Keymaker', remember it's my group that did it!

Our Keymaker video got into the Top 3! :D :D :D

All the stress we felt, all the sweat we undergone to produce the video was worth it. There were some compromises made and some opinions were buried but nonetheless, we managed to pull through this as a group! And I was the video editor together with Ruzaini. If you feel that the video is good, remember this girl called Jasmine cause she was the mastermind and co-ordinator of it all (:

I was pretty apprehensive and annoyed on day 1 that I had to spend my next 5 days with people whom I didn't really know.

Moreover, the pathetically dusty room strewn with spiders and hair and dust irked me a little and on the first night I woke up a total of 4 times during my interrupted sleep :(

On the 2nd day we had the opening ceremony and keynote address by Minister of State for Education and something-else, Mr. Gan Kim Yong. There were also very interesting parallel presentations and highly engaging Q&A sessions.

Mr. Mop and the persistent _ _ guy were made rather famous, known for their consistency in asking questions and wanting real bad to get their answers.

Tea reception was good good good during the days when we had all the panel discussions and parallel presentations. I sneaked into the other LT to watch the JJ presenters and they've done us proud! (:

After that there was this team bonding activity called Discover NUS. Right I'm far too lazy now to elaborate everything but the most annoying thing of it all had to be waiting for the shuttle service which was packed all the time. We might have proven results if not for the lagging behind due to the bus service.

The nights were devoted to workshops on Guerilla filming and although I didn't really enjoy them when I thought of all the work that had to be done on Thursday, I got rather stressed.

And so when Thursday came, I was really rather stressed. And poor Hong Fei lost both his wallet and handphone. Apparently he left it in the toilet and forgot to take it out, then some merciless faggot stole both his belongings :/ That faggot had the cheek to return the wallet which was emptied and penniless. All his $80 was gone. Stupid dishonest faggot. He must have known where we were doing the filming and had to fat cheek to leave it on the letterboxes which were situated at the place we filmed our friendly keymaker. WHAT A FAGGOT.

So we filmed and filmed and uploaded and uploaded and went for lunch. I'm never going to eat at Taco Bell ever again. Worse fast food I've ever consumed in my entire life. Bleh. So after all these hassle we took MRT back to Buona Vista, took 95, and transferred to a Shuttle Bus Service back to PGP, afterwhich we went to edit, edit, edit, not taking a break until 6.30 when the video was finally saved as a movie file.

I WAS REALLY HIGHLY RELIEVED AND HAPPY (:

After that came the night when we showcased our videos to each other in small clusters and groups. Our Keymaker video earned a huge applause (can you feel me beaming? HAHA.) and we as a group, were really elated (:

This depicts the aftermath of success :D My lovely Seminar Group 5! (:

Our ever faithful and sweet SLOs Yong Quan & Jin Yu with some of us on the last night (:

A Crescent in Pre-U Sem Family photo taken on Day 2 :D

GFC 04 with our prize - The Hamper :D

JJ! (:

Joy & I :D My buddy throughout the entire camp. I LOVE YOU, GIRL!

My dear primary school friend who likes to take such dumb photos with silly poses. Great company & friend (:

Wang Fei Hong pose by Hong Fei who loves to sing as well. Haha :D

I was bored, and so I drew.

Whatever it was, I didn't regret my choice to join Pre-University Seminar this year and I truly treasure all friendships established and forged during the course of these 5 days.

Jin Yu, Yong Quan, Kenny, Jia Wei, Joy, Shawn, Serene, Jeremiah, Yi Da, Hong Fei, Amy, Gim Hoe, Joel, Christine, Ruzaini, Wan Ching, Amelia, Marianne, Amisha, Jasmine (:

SEMINAR GROUP 5 ; 2006 :D

I almost forgot!

Jia Wei's really really sweet. I was going to leave and carry my heavy luggage up the flight of steps. He stopped me while taking a photo with some people and said, "Isa, you're going to put that down now cause I'm gonna help you carry it up,"

NOEL NG JIA WEI. (:

He's just really really sweet and he refused to believe some things I said which happened during our primary school days :D

It's really nice to see him again after 4 long years and interacting with a much more mature and sweet him :D Everyone was like 'HUH!' when I said we were primary school friends. Haha (:

Alright goodnight my eyes are going to shut down very very soon. (:
