Bye 2006, hello 2007.

Yesterday (an hour ago, practically) was my brother's 16th birthday and we went to Swensen's to celebrate! Every year on my birthday I'd never get a treat as such because my birthday, whilst in Crescent, always falls on Common Test days. It was always just a cake.

He had Swensen's you know! And well, almost the whole world is celebrating with him. Every year the whole world celebrates with him.

Ice-cream cake! My dad never fails to remind me every year when my birthday gets near that he'd never be tricked into buying another ice-cream cake for me. He burned a hole in his pocket (or so he claimed to have) when he bought me a Haagen Daaz chocolate ice-cream which cost him $98.

Well, he can't complain can he.

He brought me to the shop and told me to choose, so choose I did and you can't blame me for exquisite taste cause I was only turning 7 then, celebrating the 1st birthday in my primary school years.

7 year-old kids don't really rationalise about how much a cake costs and how huge a hole it'd burn in the pockets of their parents. They care only about the appearance & taste & flavour of the cake - like me, 10 years and more than a few months ago.

2006 flew by before I had a chance to bid it goodbye. I can't say it was one of my best years, but it was definetely a memorable and enjoyable one wherein I made many many new friends and found so much more freedom.

It's also the first year I had my own room. Something I waited for for 10 years. Aaahhh. Long wait it was.

This is also the first year I stepped into the cinema so many times. 2 years ago if I ever watched 4 movies in a year I'd consider it quite a great feat already.

1. The Chronicles of Narnia (I watched this exactly 1 year ago, on 1/1/06)
2. Marrying The Mafia II (ridiculously funny)
3. I Not Stupid 2/Too
4. Season of Love
5. Fearless (霍霍霍霍霍霍霍霍!)
6. The Prestige
7. My Girl & I (Was it in 2006?)
8. Happy Feet (Mumble!)
9. Tokyo Drift - The Fast & The Furious
10. The Curse Of The Golden Flower
11. Night At The Museum (My favourite out of all of them!)
12. Silent Hill (How eventful...not.)
13. Flushed Away

There's another gathering later!

Aaaaahhhh.

Four more days and it's back to school and it's really true that when the holiday comes to a close no one wants it to end but while we're in the midst of it we're so bored that we can't wait for it to end.

One of the many conflicting human thoughts everyone has. Maybe not everyone.

And maybe not everyone watches PSS II but there are a few comments I would like to make about the show.

There is one contestant whom I particularly cannot stand.

It's not very nice to say who she is but my reactions are particularly big when she comes on screen.

Why?

She acts like such an Ah Lian and it just irks me to see her on stage. :X

It would be so much better if Ke Wei was in there. She had better a better voice, better looks, and greater potential. If she didn't get replaced by someone the competition would be so much more intense.

Whatever it is I just don't like that contestant. And I'm super glad she's out. (:

Gosh.

Alright.

(: Hello!

Went to Downtown East with my SS Class, my brother, Nick & Joyce yesterday and since it was raining, we went to the arcade.

That was my first time actually playing in the arcade and the only game I tried was shooting hoops, and I'm not such a hopeless case at shooting hoops you know? Even though the hoop is like 1.5m away from me but I managed to shoot more than I could imagine. (:

After that we went to Settlers' Cafe at Clarke Quay and had lunch + games from 2-6. Choice cuts chicken with black pepper sauce is REALLY REALLY REALLY good, trust me. We had free flow of coke & green tea too. And there are many many original and different games there for us to play.

We played Apples & Apples, Project X, some balancing game which made us all scream+clap+worry, some golddigging game with cards, Guesstures and some other games which names I do not remember.

And everyone paid $11. Quite a good deal and the toilet was pretty clean, so I was pretty satisfied. (:

The only thing was that the MRT rides were boring. My brother and I travelled from Boon Lay to Clementi, then from Clementi to Clarke Quay, and from Raffles City back to Boon Lay again. :/

And today, Xiu Ling & Vithiya came over to make Jo's birthday present!

We took a lot of retarded photos with stupid poses and we even did a hair advertisement.

And today, 27th December, is officially the day I laughed the most in the month of December. (:

This is a supposed formal shot but look at what Xiu Ling is doing. Ayeeeee.

Our hair advertisement! :D

Alright it's retarded I know. (:

Yesterday's class BBQ was great and even though it DID rain, we still had a good time.

When we met at Clementi it was only Vicky, Ivan, Xin Yi, Germaine, Clara, Metal (Eunice), Hajar, Meena, Sharlene, Josephine and I.

We took 282 to West Coast Park and then walked all the way to the park in perfect peace. Well, Xin Yi and Germ walked ahead and then lingered behind the 4 ladies, followed by the two guys, and then Jo, Clara and I who were walking rather far behind the rest of them, talking.

When we were at the West Coast Park carpark, it rained.

Sad, I know.

So we ended up waiting at some shelter for the rain to stop before we proceeded to Pit 8.

We had such a hard time starting the fire with only 12 precious fire starters that we were getting quite sad, until someone suggested we ask an uncle who was done BBQ-ing nearby to help us.

He very nicely walked over with A WHOLE BOX OF FIRE STARTERS. The shop which we ordered the charcoal & food from really was too kiam with the fire starters. It's really rather hard to start a fire with 12 cause the uncle brought 2 whole boxes of fire starters for his own BBQ.

So we learn something new everyday.

After the fire was good enough, we started with satays and otahs and buffalo wings (but they're chicken meat). Took quite a while but I think we are all pretty established BBQ-ers even though some of the buffalo wings weren't very cooked when the very eager food-testers eagerly tested them. Hah.

So we BBQ-ed and ate and drank and shortly after Mr. Lim & Beatrice came, having bumped into each other along the way. After that Vithiya called and we all went to get her and saw Keith & Wai Kit accompanied by Ivan & Vicky.

And much later on, to someone's (AHEM) very pleasant surprise, Kenneth came and everyone was teasing him and that someone else. HO HO HO.

So the attendance yesterday included: Vicky, Ivan, Keith, Wai Kit, Kenneth, Xin Yi, Germaine, Clara, Metal (Eunice), Hajar, Meena, Sharlene, Josephine, Beatrice, Vithiya & I.

16/24 - not bad, I must say.

Oh yes and I went to watch The Curse Of The Golden Flower with Melodie at West Mall today.

The show is a boob-fest. Seriously, the men on the set might have been deliriously happy during the entire filming process because there's really a lot of boobs bobbing up and down.

It didn't help that the women walked really fast and even ran. Maybe 3/4 of the male population watched the show not because of the leading actors/actresses but for the boob action. Melodie kept lamenting on why they couldn't have worn their costumes(?!) higher. And it's really quite distracting when you're trying to concentrate on the movie and most of what you see is...boobs.

We both think this is a huge ridicule to asian women. Well, in the end, the men still have it their way and I found the ending rather ambiguous. Whatever it is, the stupid thing is that most of the cast dies and ends up insane. I tend to think of it as a rather silly plot.

AND YES, the one thing I can't tolerate is incest, and there is A LOT of it in this show. Oh my oh my. Step-mother and son, half-brother and half-sister (unknowingly though, but still as disgusting!). So so so so gross. And why does the woman have to lick the guy's finger? If you call it intimate I call it gross. What if the guy just picked his nose before he filmed? Oh gross.

This show didn't have any educational value in my opinion but Chow Yun Fatt and Gong Li acted well and I couldn't help it but snigger when Jay came on screen. He looks very funny in his whole get-up.

And when he talks. Gosh. If I could laugh louder I would have. It's just a bit out of place.

He isn't that bad. At least he could cry. (:

Hah.

West Mall cinemas aren't very nice. The toilet is rather freaky, the leg spaces are pathetically small, and today, Melodie said there was a guy burping behind her and there was another man who unceremoniously talking on his phone. I sat nowhere near him but I could hear him.

Where's your etiquette, uncle?

Tsk.

Oh yah Yao Ah Ma and Mao Ce CEO sent me Christmas Cards yesterday & today respectively! Thank you dears. (:

IRENE! Thank you for the Christmas Card! (:

Piao Piao too (: It was so nice to see her very neat handwriting (:

Alright Vithiya I think you won't like to read this so don't torture yourself. It's about LITTLE KIDS!

I love LITTLE KIDS!

They may be noisy, annoying, pesky and irritating, but they are very fun people to play with!

Went helping my SS teacher with her outreach programme cum daughter's birthday and what a fine birthday party it was!

She's a little girl who like other girls, loves Disney Princesses and all the other PINK things you can possibly find and want. Pink Pink Pink.

She was sitting on my lap. She's also five but unbelievably petite.

They are siblings and you can say I've known them since they were babies? Especially the 2 girls. They look very alike right?

Two on my lap and one on my head.

I'm closest to the girl who literally jumped and placed her chin on top of my head (:

Aside from little kids, I love BABIES and TODDLERS too!

Basically kids under the age of 5.

Babies which are 1-2 months old I don't quite dare carry. But it takes quite a lot to coax babies into your arms. They'd wail after a while and become immediately silent once they're returned to their mother's arms.

Joshua is a very cute baby boy who sticks to his mother all the time and it was so rare yesterday that I got to carry him for a while!

He's really cute and he has really nice hair (:

Aaaaah I just love being with kids :D

Saturday, December 16, 2006.

Class CIP today was quite a waste of time.

And, next week is a busy week!

I'm going to go broke very soon because there's class bbq on the 21st, and I'm watching The Curse Of The Golden Flower with Melodie on the 22nd.

No money no money no money!

I shall try to ask my daddy (:

And, Vithiya & Xiu Ling are coming over on the 27th to prepare something!

Yay yay yay!

And I shall spend Monday - Wednesday reading The Duchess Of Malfi which I haven't touched, which isn't good at all :(

The only homework I left untouched is my Tutorial & Assignment 10B which is very very complex and yes, it's called Complex Numbers, which happens to be my 2nd largest nemesis after Trigonometry.

And Clara, if you are reading this, are you free on the 27th? And please do remember to take care of your health. You shouldn't be coughing or anything during Orientation!

Refrain from fried, oily and spicy stuff okay?

Oh yes I was watching 10 minutes of POWER RANGERS WILD FORCE on Thursday with my siblings at my grandma's house and that was the first time I realised how stupid the entire program is.

It's stupid when at this age, you look back at these children programmes and realise how retarded and unrealistic they are. I remember I used to adore Yellow Ranger..

I wonder why.

Anyway Power Rangers Wild Force is not nice cause Pink Ranger is not in there and without Pink Ranger, Power Rangers isn't complete.

Speaking of Power Rangers, TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES is coming out in the cinemas next year!

Aaaaahhhh exciting!

I love Ninja Turtles!

I used to love X-Men and Super Sonic too.

AND THE BIG BEAR'S HOUSE! And the funny moon he sings to everynight before he goes to bed and before the show ends.

But I guess my ultimate favourite is LITTLE BEAR!

Aaaaahhh I love Little Bear!

But it's currently non-existent. :(

Magic School Bus is nice too. Aaaaahhhhh!

The stupid cartoons that they show now are either too bimbotic or too pathetic. :/

Church camp was very very very good. Am immensely glad that I went and I really managed to learn many wonderful lessons.

Mao Ce CEO is in Thailand/Bangkok now. :(

Come back soon and safely okay? And please do remember to shop till you drop and bargain until you go hoarse because that's what you do when you're in Thailand.

Anyway IRENE, I forgot to tag and wish you a Happy Birthday (that is, 2 days ago), so I'm telling you now, Happy Belated Birthday (:

May you meet Shinhwa once again.
